Metro Diner is a family-owned diner located on the ground floor of a historic three-story wooden clapboard building built in 1871.

The building was one of the tallest structures on the Upper West Side when Henry Grimm, who operated a grocery on the ground floor and lived with his family above the saloon, had it built. The #diner has been in business since 1993. Photo from 2010 and full text appear in our book "New York Nights" #storefront
